Nothing real can separate us from the Life that the Light and Love of God express. Only fear can, distorting our hope and estranging our love. Fear of God, of pain, and fear of our fellow man express themselves in a contraction from life, from events, and from others. This contraction of the heart causes us to be afraid of others and not realize they are terrified as well. People believe themselves vulnerable and mortal when they identify their spirit with the body, conscious as the personality of the body's life, and not of it. The fear at the root of this idea of self, that of an earthly conditioned ego, capable of being hurt and dying, is an emotional and moral collapse from the heavenly man or woman. This fear is our satan, and is what really opposes a Christian of the New Covenant. Every other form of evil and harm only reaches us through that.

This collapse of selfness causes withdrawal emotionally and leads to obsession with your own mind states, your appetites, or energies. People become mere images to you; blips on your radar, and not real relations. You recoil from openness, engagement, freed feeling, and radiance – from happiness and life. Events and experience are then no longer how the living Father communicates the path of growth, but are something fear and distorted desires manipulate to avoid problems and seek comfort. As spirits we do not die, so what do we fear? We fear the death of the body because we think we are it. None of this confusion is real simply because we imagine it and fear it.

Recognition or identification with the Son or Daughter of God you are, through the Light and Love of God, transforms your energy. Identification with the body – not simply feeling through it – but feeling and desiring as the personality or as the elemental energies of the body lowers it. This is the Fall, and the Fall is a choice you continue to make, not one made for you. Choose to ascend through the Light and Love of God by being intelligence and love in relation, and you will arise. Ascension is moral and spiritual and is not a matter of space and time. This then is Christos, for "the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Cor 3:17-18).

The Light shows us what is true; we need only listen and look. But we must be truthful with what we see, otherwise the Light will wait until we are looking to show us what is there. Similarly, if we are authentic in our being, and open our hearts unselfishly, we will see others for the first time, and feel directly. We will then discover that Love underlies the happenings of our lives, and enfolds the sorrowful selves who appear here as fearful caricatures of their real selves. Love truly does weave the fabric of all of life's events and relations but it does so for who you really are, and not for the image of vulnerabilities you protect as a self, or try to shelter from growth.

We must love our neighbor which means first and most importantly that we are fair and open. Not foolish and not blind… fair and open. If you want to know God you must enter into relation with man. "Is not this the fast I have chosen?… That you loose the bands of wickedness, undo the heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?" You are to deal your light to the hungry, bring the poor to your feast, and cover with your love those who are naked. We are not to hide from others who are – in God's eyes – our own flesh. If we do what God has asked, "Then will our light break forth like morning, and our health spring forth speedily." We will be called, repairers of the breach.
